The Life Book

Children who receive foster care often have a life book maintained. The purpose of the life book is to preserve memories for the child as they move from placement to placement. To the casual observer, it is a photo album or scrapbook. For the child, it is their link to their past. God maintains a life book, just a like a life book may be kept for children in foster care.

Revelation 20:12-15
And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works. And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works. And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.

The Book of Life that is kept by God is a record of how we live our lives. In this book our works are recorded and we are judged by these works. To be part of the Kingdom of God, our name must be recorded in the Book of Life

Philippians 4:3
And I intreat thee also, true yokefellow, help those women which laboured with me in the gospel, with Clement also, and with other my fellowlabourers, whose names are in the book of life.

To be included in the Book of Life, we must overcome the world. We cannot be subdued by the world. We cannot allow the world to limit the potential that God sees in each of us.

Revelation 3:5
He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels.

Life books are a part of our human existence, and God will use his Book of Life to determine who will be part of his kingdom. To be included in this book, we must have works worthy of this privilege, and we must overcome this world.
