The Last Great Day
October 24, 2016

Last Monday was the start to The Feast of Tabernacles, a celebration over eight days that begins with a Holy Day and ends with a Holy Day. Christians who observe this day recognize that this feast points forward to the time when the Kingdom of God will be established on earth and that the evils we see on a daily basis are no more. Today is the Last Great Day of the Feast, a day when the gospels show that Jesus preached in the temple about living waters.

John 7: 37-40
In the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink.  He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.  But this spake he of the Spirit, which they that believe on him should receive: for the Holy Ghost was not yet given; because that Jesus was not yet glorified.

The Feast of Tabernacles, and the Last Great Day are linked to Jesus Christ through this prophecy of abundant faith flowing as living water from each person. This flowing water is not only symbolic of the Holy Spirit, but is symbolic of the river that flows through New Jerusalem from the throne of God.

Revelation 22:1-7
And he shewed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb. In the midst of the street of it, and on either side of the river, was there the tree of life, which bare twelve manner of fruits, and yielded her fruit every month: and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations. And there shall be no more curse: but the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it; and his servants shall serve him: And they shall see his face; and his name shall be in their foreheads. And there shall be no night there; and they need no candle, neither light of the sun; for the Lord God giveth them light: and they shall reign for ever and ever. And he said unto me, These sayings are faithful and true: and the Lord God of the holy prophets sent his angel to shew unto his servants the things which must shortly be done. Behold, I come quickly: blessed is he that keepeth the sayings of the prophecy of this book.

The river flowing from the throne of God waters the tree of life which is for the healing of the nations, and what was taken from man by the sin of Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden is fully restored, as much as the Holy Spirit today waters the people of faith, the elect of God. The Last Great Day also points forward to the time when God dwells with men and all pain is eliminated. There is no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying. The pain of today is no more as all things will be made new.

Revelation 21: 1-7
And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea. And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God. And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away. And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful. And he said unto me, It is done. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely. He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son.

Those who overcome will at the return of Jesus Christ inherit all things as the sons and daughters of God.
