Last Day of Unleavened Bread
April 29, 2024

Today we are observing the Last Day of Unleavened Bread. After the Passover, Pharaoh let the people of Israel depart from Egypt. Plagues had been brought upon the Egyptians and Pharaoh did not let the people go. It took the death of the firstborn of Egypt which included taking life from the ruling family of Egypt to bring a change of heart. While it was still night, Moses and Aaron were called to meet with Pharaoh who told them that they could leave Egypt to serve their God. He told them all the people of Israel were free to go with their animals. The Egyptians were desperate because they wanted no more death and that also meant there was no time for bread dough to rise. Beyond the animals, the Egyptians gladly gave them anything, including things of small and great value, just to hurry them out of the country lest any more harm come to the Egyptians. It was on the day after the Passover that the children of Israel departed Egypt. In less than one day they went from slaves to free.

Exodus 12:31-51
And he called for Moses and Aaron by night, and said, Rise up, and get you forth from among my people, both ye and the children of Israel; and go, serve the LORD, as ye have said. Also take your flocks and your herds, as ye have said, and be gone; and bless me also. And the Egyptians were urgent upon the people, that they might send them out of the land in haste; for they said, We be all dead men. And the people took their dough before it was leavened, their kneadingtroughs being bound up in their clothes upon their shoulders. And the children of Israel did according to the word of Moses; and they borrowed of the Egyptians jewels of silver, and jewels of gold, and raiment: And the LORD gave the people favour in the sight of the Egyptians, so that they lent unto them such things as they required. And they spoiled the Egyptians. And the children of Israel journeyed from Rameses to Succoth, about six hundred thousand on foot that were men, beside children. And a mixed multitude went up also with them; and flocks, and herds, even very much cattle. And they baked unleavened cakes of the dough which they brought forth out of Egypt, for it was not leavened; because they were thrust out of Egypt, and could not tarry, neither had they prepared for themselves any victual. Now the sojourning of the children of Israel, who dwelt in Egypt, was four hundred and thirty years. And it came to pass at the end of the four hundred and thirty years, even the selfsame day it came to pass, that all the hosts of the LORD went out from the land of Egypt. It is a night to be much observed unto the LORD for bringing them out from the land of Egypt: this is that night of the LORD to be observed of all the children of Israel in their generations. And the LORD said unto Moses and Aaron, This is the ordinance of the passover: There shall no stranger eat thereof: But every man's servant that is bought for money, when thou hast circumcised him, then shall he eat thereof. A foreigner and an hired servant shall not eat thereof. In one house shall it be eaten; thou shalt not carry forth ought of the flesh abroad out of the house; neither shall ye break a bone thereof. All the congregation of Israel shall keep it. And when a stranger shall sojourn with thee, and will keep the passover to the LORD, let all his males be circumcised, and then let him come near and keep it; and he shall be as one that is born in the land: for no uncircumcised person shall eat thereof. One law shall be to him that is homeborn, and unto the stranger that sojourneth among you. Thus did all the children of Israel; as the LORD commanded Moses and Aaron, so did they. And it came to pass the selfsame day, that the LORD did bring the children of Israel out of the land of Egypt by their armies.

As God led the children of Israel from Egypt to return to the land promised to Abraham, God purposely led them in an indirect route to the promised land. God knew if he took them the most direct way possible it would cause the people to immediately face war, and God knew many would not fight and instead desire to return to Egypt.

Exodus 13:17-18
And it came to pass, when Pharaoh had let the people go, that God led them not through the way of the land of the Philistines, although that was near; for God said, Lest peradventure the people repent when they see war, and they return to Egypt: But God led the people about, through the way of the wilderness of the Red sea: and the children of Israel went up harnessed out of the land of Egypt.

God would not set up His people for failure then, nor will He set us up his people for failure today. God does not want His people to fail, but to succeed. Notice what Paul wrote to the Corinthians.

1 Corinthians 10:13
There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.

We know God will not allow us to be tempted beyond what we can handle. With the people of Israel, after having just been given their freedom after generations of enslavement, God knew the threat of battle against a foreign army by His people who most recently were enslaved would be too much for His people to endure. Could God have intervened in all of these immediate battles to give victory to the children of Israel? Absolutely! Did God choose to at this early time to intervene in battle? No, God did not. God knew this would be too much for the people and even then, knowing victory was assured, even then God would not set up His people for failure. He does the same for us today taking the longer more indirect path to the Kingdom of God solely for our sake.

We know God will allow no temptation to overtake us and will always give us a way of escape. We need to remember that it is never God tempting us when we are facing temptation. James wrote this very clearly providing a connection between lust, enticement, and temptation.

James 1:13-18
Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man: But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed. Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death. Do not err, my beloved brethren. Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning. Of his own will begat he us with the word of truth, that we should be a kind of firstfruits of his creatures.

James writes very clearly that we are always at war with our own bodies, and one would be correct to ask what is the way of escape from one’s own body? Jesus spoke on this to the disciples on the night immediately before His arrest. Jesus and His disciples were in the garden of Gethsemane late at night. He took Peter, James, and John with him as He prayed to God the Father. He asked these disciples to watch with Him as He prayed. From time to time Jesus would stop praying and observed that these three had not watched as Jesus had requested. They had instead fallen asleep. It was during this time that Jesus told them to watch and pray that they enter not into temptation because the spirit is willing but the flesh is weak.

Matthew 26:36-46
Then cometh Jesus with them unto a place called Gethsemane, and saith unto the disciples, Sit ye here, while I go and pray yonder. And he took with him Peter and the two sons of Zebedee, and began to be sorrowful and very heavy. Then saith he unto them, My soul is exceeding sorrowful, even unto death: tarry ye here, and watch with me. And he went a little further, and fell on his face, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me: nevertheless not as I will, but as thou wilt. And he cometh unto the disciples, and findeth them asleep, and saith unto Peter, What, could ye not watch with me one hour? Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak. He went away again the second time, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if this cup may not pass away from me, except I drink it, thy will be done. And he came and found them asleep again: for their eyes were heavy. And he left them, and went away again, and prayed the third time, saying the same words. Then cometh he to his disciples, and saith unto them, Sleep on now, and take your rest: behold, the hour is at hand, and the Son of man is betrayed into the hands of sinners. Rise, let us be going: behold, he is at hand that doth betray me.

Jesus let them know that even though they would be living a life that would be spiritually focused, they would be living that spiritually focused life subject to the limitations of the human body. That night the limitations of fatigue overtook Peter, James, and John.

Paul explained this in his letter to the Romans showing the constant battle that he faced. Paul was raised a Pharisee and through God’s calling became the apostle to the gentiles. Most of what we read in the New Testament are words he was inspired by the Holy Spirit to write. He explained how the law of God is spiritual and how he was a slave of sin physically. He admitted he came to hate his actions as a man and how what he did was a result of sin, not the Holy Spirit. Within his physical body, he knew there was nothing good, that when it came to his body, his body only did evil. Paul knew there was this constant battle, the spirit versus the body. Paul clearly tells us what the way of escape is for us when it is our body from which we need to escape. Paul tells us deliverance is of God the Father through the sacrifice of Jesus Christ.

Romans 7:14-25
For we know that the law is spiritual: but I am carnal, sold under sin. For that which I do I allow not: for what I would, that do I not; but what I hate, that do I. If then I do that which I would not, I consent unto the law that it is good. Now then it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me. For I know that in me that is, in my flesh, dwelleth no good thing: for to will is present with me; but how to perform that which is good I find not. For the good that I would I do not: but the evil which I would not, that I do. Now if I do that I would not, it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me. I find then a law, that, when I would do good, evil is present with me. For I delight in the law of God after the inward man: But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members. O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this death? I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord. So then with the mind I myself serve the law of God; but with the flesh the law of sin.

Paul didn’t conclude his thoughts at this point in the book. What we see as chapters and verses were added centuries later by people to make it easier to navigate the Bible. Even though it is chapter eight to us, chapter eight begins with the next few words of Paul where he explained there is no condemnation for the people of Jesus Christ who walk after the spirit and not the flesh. Paul added that Jesus came in the flesh to condemn sin in the flesh, and that because we have the Holy Spirit, we are living in the spirit and will be resurrected at the return of Jesus.

Romans 8:1-11
There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death. For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh: That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit. For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be. So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God. But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his. And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness. But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.

We may wonder how we live a physical life through our human body where like Paul, we are also carnal sold under sin, and yet also like Paul, we live a spiritual live alive to Jesus Christ. It’s almost like we are living two different ways at the same time, and that these two different ways are very incompatible with each other. How do we live a life where the spirit is willing, and the flesh is weak? It’s almost like we work against ourselves. Think of the person who has just recently sprained an ankle and needs crutches to walk. It’s almost like that person’s body is working against them. Think of the person who has limited use of part of their body for whatever reason. Maybe the person is blind, and while they can fully hear, they cannot see with their eyes. Think about the person who is awoken in the middle of the night finding an unfolding disaster around them. They would prefer to sleep, but the urgency of the situation requires immediate and focused action. These people who might have difficulties controlling part of their body usually find a way to move forward in their life and so must we.

It is through our bodies that we are tempted by lust and enticement. Beyond the body is an unseen spiritual war that we must fight. We are given a small look into this war through a few passages from the Bible. Peter writes that Satan is like a roaring lion, walking about, seeking whom he may devour. We are told through faith we resist Satan.

1 Peter 5:8-11
Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour: Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world. But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you. To him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.

In the Book of Job, we see that Satan admitted he is present on the earth, walking up and down on it, as if he is restless, or as Peter wrote walking about seeking whom he may devour. God asked Satan about Job and immediately Satan accused Job of being insincere, just in it for whatever he could get. God then permits Satan to bring great harm to everything important to Job, but at this point does not allow Satan to harm Job.

Job 1:6-12
Now there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the LORD, and Satan came also among them. And the LORD said unto Satan, Whence comest thou? Then Satan answered the LORD, and said, From going to and fro in the earth, and from walking up and down in it. And the LORD said unto Satan, Hast thou considered my servant Job, that there is none like him in the earth, a perfect and an upright man, one that feareth God, and escheweth evil? Then Satan answered the LORD, and said, Doth Job fear God for nought? Hast not thou made an hedge about him, and about his house, and about all that he hath on every side? thou hast blessed the work of his hands, and his substance is increased in the land. But put forth thine hand now, and touch all that he hath, and he will curse thee to thy face. And the LORD said unto Satan, Behold, all that he hath is in thy power; only upon himself put not forth thine hand. So Satan went forth from the presence of the LORD.

In other parts of Job, we can read that later God would allow Satan to bring great discomfort to Job nearing the point of death. God allowed this because like with the people of Israel when they left Egypt, and like the writing of Paul to the Corinthians, God will not allow us to be tempted beyond what we are able to endure. God will not set us up for failure. Thousands of years later, Satan hasn’t figured this out. Satan still is that roaring lion seeking whom he may devour. Why would God allow Satan to engage with one of His followers who has the faith of Jesus Christ knowing Satan will try and bring some level of harm and discomfort to that person when God already knows that Satan will not prevail? I believe that God allows this to help his people develop a deeper spiritual relationship relying on God while also totally confounding Satan. Anyone who reads the end of the Bible can see that we who are aligned with God and Jesus Christ through the Holy Spirit win very big, and Satan and people aligned to Satan lose very badly.

After not prevailing against Job and the many people of faith in the Old Testament, Satan was not clear on the concept that when it comes to spiritual warfare, he loses. Satan is so deluded into his power and ability that he even tried to tempt Jesus Christ immediately prior to the start of His earthly ministry.

When Jesus was tempted by Satan, he was tempted enduring the limitations of the human condition of hunger. Satan immediately saw this as an opportunity to attack Jesus through enticement of hunger and power, telling Jesus to command that stones be turned to bread, which Jesus could have done and Satan knew this very well. Instead Jesus quoted scripture, today what is known as Deuteronomy eight verse three. Failing on human biology related to hunger, Satan then took Jesus to the pinnacle of the temple and this time, Satan used scripture, Psalm ninety-one verse twelve, to tempt Jesus. Jesus again responded with scripture citing Deuteronomy six verse sixteen. Satan then took Jesus to a high mountain and specifically appealed to the lust for power asking that Jesus worship him. Jesus instead cited scripture once again, Deuteronomy six verse thirteen. Knowing he had failed in this attempt, Satan left.

Matthew 4:1-11
Then was Jesus led up of the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted of the devil. And when he had fasted forty days and forty nights, he was afterward an hungred. And when the tempter came to him, he said, If thou be the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread. But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God. Then the devil taketh him up into the holy city, and setteth him on a pinnacle of the temple, And saith unto him, If thou be the Son of God, cast thyself down: for it is written, He shall give his angels charge concerning thee: and in their hands they shall bear thee up, lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone. Jesus said unto him, It is written again, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God. Again, the devil taketh him up into an exceeding high mountain, and sheweth him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them; And saith unto him, All these things will I give thee, if thou wilt fall down and worship me. Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve. Then the devil leaveth him, and, behold, angels came and ministered unto him.

When the people of Israel travelled through the wilderness, God was there before them. With God protecting from the front, there was no danger from an approaching enemy. God had the people of Israel protected.

Exodus 13:20-22
And they took their journey from Succoth, and encamped in Etham, in the edge of the wilderness. And the LORD went before them by day in a pillar of a cloud, to lead them the way; and by night in a pillar of fire, to give them light; to go by day and night: He took not away the pillar of the cloud by day, nor the pillar of fire by night, from before the people.

In our spiritual battles which we will fight, just like God went before the people of Israel, God will go before us to protect us. In military combat, God is in the point position, always the most exposed in battle. God is most exposed in our spiritual battles, and when we rely on God, we allow God to confound Satan and what is evil. Just like God first heard the accusations made by Satan against Job before anything happened to Job, God is in the point position in our life to deflect the attacks of Satan the Devil.

Isaiah wrote how God is also our rear guard. Military rear guards defend areas of the combat zone behind the front lines where there should be less danger, but should an attack come, it could be devastating as supply lines could be severed. They protect these critical areas from surprise attacks and during any time of retreat. With God as our rear guard, we know we will not be surprised at the worst possible time.

Isaiah 52:12
For ye shall not go out with haste, nor go by flight: for the LORD will go before you; and the God of Israel will be your rereward.

Rereward in the King James Version means rear guard. In our spiritual battles, not only does God protect us from what is expected, God also protects us from the unexpected, and with that understanding, what do we have to fear? Let’s look at how this works. When Jesus was tempted by Satan, Jesus did not intellectually or religiously debate Satan on whatever Satan was trying to get Jesus to buy into. Jesus quoted scripture in response. When we face our spiritual battles we need to remember what Jesus did, and formulate our response not on anything we think or reason, but what we can cite in scripture. When we move beyond what is written in scripture and begin to reason we could unintentionally open our mind to debate with Satan and we might even find ourselves losing that debate. Everything we do spiritually is based on what God says and not on how mankind thinks. Satan has already influenced mankind to think in ways that go against what God expects. If Satan can get us to debate with him from a human standpoint, Satan will always win.

Knowing that we respond to Satan with scripture, it is also important to remember that we are bought and paid for with the blood of Jesus Christ. Knowing we are not to debate using human reasoning instead considering what scripture says, and knowing we are bought and paid for with the blood of Jesus, there should never be a question in our mind that we must align what we do and who we are to God and Jesus Christ. Paul had to remind the Corinthians of this explaining that there is a need to flee fornication explaining that we are bought with a price and that because of who we are, our spirit and body belong to God.

1 Corinthians 6:15-20
Know ye not that your bodies are the members of Christ? shall I then take the members of Christ, and make them the members of an harlot? God forbid. What? know ye not that he which is joined to an harlot is one body? for two, saith he, shall be one flesh. But he that is joined unto the Lord is one spirit. Flee fornication. Every sin that a man doeth is without the body; but he that committeth fornication sinneth against his own body. What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's.

We are not only to be living our lives aligning who we are and what we do to God and Jesus Christ, we recognize that it is possible because Jesus died so that all can be saved giving His life as a ransom for all. Paul explained this to Timothy as he was also explaining that God desires all people to be saved and come to the knowledge of the truth and how Jesus Christ is the mediator that makes this possible.

1 Timothy 2:1-6
I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour; Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth. For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus; Who gave himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time.

We are bought and paid for with the blood of Jesus Christ who is the mediator that makes our salvation possible. When we face evil or struggle with difficulties of life, we know we are engaged in a spiritual battle against Satan the Devil and his demons. What is before us may be very different than what is the spiritual reality. Instead of solely focusing on what we can see with our eyes, we remember the spiritual warfare in which we are constantly engaged, and we remember to cite scripture, the word of God, and not human reasoning which has already been controlled by Satan, to defend when Satan attacks. We must also remember that we can go to God the Father asking for His protection in the name of Jesus Christ against Satan.

John 16:23-24
And in that day ye shall ask me nothing. Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in my name, he will give it you. Hitherto have ye asked nothing in my name: ask, and ye shall receive, that your joy may be full.

In the spiritual battle we fight as we come out of sin, we must remember it is not our place to rebuke Satan, even though we know we are following God and Satan is the avowed enemy of God. Not even Michael the archangel did this when disputing with Satan over the body of Moses. Instead, Michael simply stated that God would rebuke Satan.

Jude 1:9
Yet Michael the archangel, when contending with the devil he disputed about the body of Moses, durst not bring against him a railing accusation, but said, The Lord rebuke thee.

In our spiritual battle we must remember we are bought and paid for with the blood of Jesus Christ Who is our mediator with God the Father. In our spiritual battles, we are protected spiritually before and after the battle, much like the people of Israel had spiritual protection ahead and behind them as they journeyed through the wilderness. Because we have the Holy Spirit, we belong to God and are no longer under Satan and his demons. We are under God the Father through Jesus Christ. When Satan tries to engage us in anyway and through any means, we need to stop right then and there remembering we are bought and paid for with the blood of Jesus Christ. Instead of being a slave to sin with the wages of death as we previously had with Satan, we now belong to God the Father through the sacrifice of Jesus Christ where we have the opportunity for eternal life. What a contrast there is between death as the wages of sin and eternal life as a gift from God! Because we belong to God the Father, when Satan talks, we do not need to listen or even respond. Instead of engaging Satan, we cite scripture knowing, like Michael the archangel knew, it is God the Father who we can call on to rebuke Satan.

In our spiritual battle we are told to be strong in the Lord, in the power of His might. We can and will withstand the trickery of Satan the Devil because we are bought and paid for with the blood of Jesus Christ. The spiritual battle we face every day is not a battle against other people. The battle we face is a spiritual battle against Satan, his demons, and their evil influence that we can see in this world. Paul urged the Ephesians to fight this spiritual battle remembering to put on the whole armor of God so that they could withstand the attacks of evil they would face. Today, being grounded in the truth is vital to our spiritual defense against evil, because all that Satan can offer, a lie, is not of the truth. We can only know the truth through the Holy Spirit and by knowing what is in the Bible and that takes study of the Bible, on a frequent and regular basis, a daily basis, Sabbath after Sabbath, month after month, as we move into and out of Holy Days and their seasons, and from year to year.

We protect ourselves with righteousness by living a life that is reflective of what we know to be the truth of the Bible. The life that we have is more than simply knowing the truth and taking no action. We act on the truth that is in the Bible.

We maintain hope in our spiritual battles when we understand God’s plan of salvation in our life. Each Holy Day that comes year after year gives us reason to rehearse God’s plan of salvation. We know that the most important life to live is not the physical life that we have now, but to live spiritually now so that at the last trumpet we will be changed from this physical body to a spiritual body. This is possible in part because we have hope of the Kingdom of God and the New Jerusalem knowing that all is possible through the sacrifice and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

In the spiritual attacks we will face, we remain grounded in our faith which protects us. This faith will give us the strength to repel negative attacks that will come our way, as we hold firmly to our hope of salvation using scripture as our weapon, like Jesus Christ cited scripture, to defend ourselves.

Ephesians 6:10-17
Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:

We know the word of God is found in the Bible and is quicker, more powerful, and stronger than the most powerful weapon ever created by man as it is the best at understanding the thoughts and intents of the heart.

Hebrews 4:12
For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

Paul taught Timothy that all scripture is given by inspiration of God. It establishes truth and correction of errors. Through scripture we are taught how to be righteous so that we can be perfect and thoroughly able to do good works.

2 Timothy 3:16-17
All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.

In all that we face in our life and the bleakness of the evil we see around us in our life, on this day as we contemplate the people of Israel leaving Egypt as a type of our journey from sin, we know we have always been spiritually protected by God who leads the way before us and protects us from surprise attacks. We know we have a God who will always provide a way of escape for us in whatever situations we face in life. We know we have been bought and paid for through the blood of Jesus Christ by God the Father who desires all men to be saved and that God is working within us so that we may be perfect, complete, before God standing tall after the spiritual battle we face each and every day. With all of this, if God is for us, nobody can be truly against us. Satan may wish for our defeat, and Satan will lose that battle. Whatever charge Satan brings against us before God, much like he brought charges against Job, we remember it is God that justifies, or determines our innocence. We also remember because of the resurrection of Jesus Christ who is our mediator, there is no one who can effectively condemn us. We know that nothing will separate us from the love of Christ, nothing small nor nothing great. When we are faced with the most challenging of circumstances and others mock us, it is then we conquer through Jesus Christ. There is nothing that will be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Jesus Christ, our Lord.

Romans 8:31-39
What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us? He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things? Who shall lay anything to the charge of God's elect? It is God that justifieth. Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us. Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter. Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us. For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Each and every day we continue on our journey from sin and we can confidently push forward to our place in the Kingdom of God as God leads the way for us while also protecting us from the unexpected knowing that in the end we who are aligned with God the Father and Jesus Christ will win the spiritual battles we face on our journey.
